Plan Oversight Team.

Effective public engagement in any community planning process requires the active participation of the community, including staff, elected and appointed officials, and vested individuals. The Plan will be prepared with the aid of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the Plan Advisory Committee (PAC), the Nassau Prosperity Alliance (NPA), Civic Leaders, and will be guided by public engagement. Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)

The Technical Advisory Committee will provide ongoing process implementation. The TAC’s role will be to:

  • Confirm the Community Vision; 

  • Provide direction for strategies related to their specific department; 

  • Review and comment the growth framework; 

  • Provide feedback on the place types and roadway characteristics; and, 

  • Implement the Comprehensive Plan.


Plan Advisory Committee (PAC)

The Plan Advisory Committee will provide ongoing Plan oversight and decision-making, the acting PAC will be the Planning and Zoning Board members. The PAC’s role will be to:

  • Affirm the Vision for Nassau County;

  • Review and comment on the growth framework; 

  • Provide feedback on the place types and roadway characteristics; 

  • Review strategies to implement the plan; 

  • Participate in community engagement opportunities;

  • Be local champions and spread the word about engagement opportunities; and

  • Build support for the Plan and generate consensus.


Nassau Prosperity Alliance (NPA)

The Nassau Prosperity Alliance will act as an additional sounding board during the process. Their role will be to:

  • Provide direction on the Vision for Nassau County;

  • Review and comment on the future growth framework; 

  • Provide insight for the plan strategies; 

  • Participate in and promote community engagement opportunities; and, 

  • Build support for the Plan and generate consensus.
